We never thought that starting a family would be so difficult. After failed infertility treatments and a miscarriage, we were left feeling empty. We desired to have a baby come into to our little family and fill our hearts and lives with love. Little did we know how soon that desire would happen. As soon as we came across Heart and Soul Adoptions we knew that we had found our agency. We had contacted Jane and got the initial information and were all ready to start the paperwork, the home study, the family profile. We thought we had plenty of time to do everything. Twelve days after our first phone call with Jane, we brought our little boy home. After the call that there was a possible child waiting for us, we had two days to do almost everything. We had nothing ready. There were many phone calls to Jane, some very late at night. We had absolutely nothing ready to actually bring a baby home. We had an overwhelming response from friends and family; they gave us everything we needed; a crib, diapers, food, toys—you name it, we had it.
We met Christian and his birth mom at a local restaurant. The minute they walked in we fell in love with that precious baby boy. We were able to spend a couple days with Christian, his birth mom and Christian's big sister. We not only fell in love with Christian, but also his birth mom. She is one of the most giving, generous women we have ever met. Our experience with Heart and Soul Adoptions was amazing. Jane was there for us every step of the way. She had the right answers to all our questions. Our social worker, Morgan, had a genuine care and concern for our family and for Christian's well being. Denise helped us understand the whole process and explained things every step of the way. Even now that we have our little boy, if we have a question we don't hesitate to call Jane or Denise. They are still both very willing and eager to help us. Christian has filled that emptiness in our family. We can't wait until we get to adopt another little miracle through Heart and Soul.
